Home : Sensor CookingPerhaps the most advanced feature for a microwave oven is sensor cooking. Weight Sensor Simply put, the sensors in the microwave oven will weigh the food inserted, and then calculate the temperature and length it will need for either cooking or defrosting it. Auto weight systems can vary. A basic auto weight system will have a process such as,
A fully automated process, where all you to do is insert the food, press one button and the rest is taken care of has not yet been developed. Therefore the simplicity of the auto weight sensor term may be misleading. It's not a fully calculated process which takes no brain power by the operator. Temperature Sensor A temperature sensor or probe can automatically detect the moisture within the food, and then switch the microwave off when it is ready. For some recipes and foods this can result in a one button click cook process. What a temperature sensor will ensure, is that food will never be over or under cooked. As most microwave operators will know, there is often the need to stop and start the cooking process to ensure the food is thoroughly cooked. The temperature sensor will take this effort and hassle out of microwaving. |
